This is also known as the bike district because the best bike shop in L.A., Orange 20, is located here as well as the Bike Kitchen. The Kitchen is a bike co op, where you can build a bike for next to nothing with the help of volunteers. It's good shit!
There is also a restaurant called "Pure Luck," which is vegan and even has vegan beer. Yes, lots of beer/wine is not vegan, so do your research!
