Daily Music Dose - Enya

If you have not heard the splendor that is Enya ever in your life, then you are not living. You probably find no joy in the smile of a laughing baby. Sure you look at tiny puppies but do you see them? Should read the following post devoted to the Queen of the Foggiest of Moors, your life will be changed. Get ready to see the world with brand new eyes.

When I was a tiny boy, a freshmen at the University of Life, I was busy dreaming of riding on the backs of unicorns as my radio, complete with tape deck, blared Enya's 1991 release of Shepherd Moons. Enya's music is often sung in Ye Olde Tongue of Gaelic as well as a myriad of other languages. Enya has released 8 studio albums and is currently holding the number two spot behind U2 in Ireland's musical export department. She is currently the biggest solo act coming out of said country.

Her voice is beyond compare. In all the land, there is none so fair as she. There have been those that have set out on quests to win her heart, only to be smote by their own inability to meet her standards of chivalry.

Allow me to share with you a song entitled Smaointe from Shepherd Moons -

You must watch this video. The images basically sum up what it was like to be inside of my head at the tender young age of 11. Distant lands? Check. Wood nymphs? Check. Adventure? Check. Castles? Check. Horses? Check. Bascially, my entire backyard became a haunted moor. I battled mystical beasts (my cats mostly) and tried to lull them to a slumber as I called the winds with my penny whistle. Yes, I had my father buy me one.

Yes, Enya has many more works but they are not as magical as this. Listen to it and gaze out of your window on a rainy day. You will feel yourself transported to some strange land where it is ok to have nudity in butter commercials. Enya truly is magical.

Orinoco Flow is one of my favourites ever. She's also my neighbour!!! I feel so sorry for her though there's always whack-jobs breaking into her house no wonder she's a recluse :(
