[REC]

If you can get your hands on this flick before the remake comes out, watch it! I saw it on a computer (because I am a thief) and it scared the BA-JEBUS out of me.

Don't you have that in the US yet, it's been on & gone here in Europe.

I didn't watch it, but I might now.

The Spanish version is floating on the web. If you can find the Spanish version with the subtitles, watch it. I usually don't get scared, on account of my having no real emotions and what not. I was genuinely freaked out by this movie. I saw it on a MacBook.

The remake is on it's way to hit theaters soon-ish.

I love when "am cam" (amateur camera filming) is done properly. It seems like a cross between Dawn of the Dead and 28 Days Later but not really. I've heard it's gotten great reviews. This just may be my weekend movie viewing...Crappy American remake (I bet) comes out sometime in October.

Oh, it's the Spanish 2007 version that's been on in the UK.

I will dare to say it is nothing like Dawn &/or 28 Days. It really is it's own beast.

I hear the Version Americano is a shot for shot, line for line remake. I don't know how I feel about that. I'd watch it, though.

Yeah, I'll watch it when it comes out American style, but I just have this suspicion that it's gonna suck big time...I just hate horror movie remakes. Look at the mess we've made with J-horror...ugh..."one missed call" was a joke, et. al...

This movie is fucking TERRIFYING. And that is a rare statement I make for movies.

What [REC] does so effectively is force you to be right in the action; in that sense, it's more like Cloverfield than 28 Days Later. However, the entire movie takes place in one four story building. As the movie progresses, you're forced to keep track of the absurd number of variables and that's what's so frightening about it. By using such a large and diverse cast, there's more of a possibility for things to go wrong.

And the last 10 minutes are just....guh. Oh god. OH GOD. :( :( :(
